Summertime Make-up Essentials
By Carina D. Brooks-King
It‘s summertime again and that means it’s time to stock up on our beauty essentials! Here is a simple list of some must-haves to keep your skin looking its best this summer season.
Facial scrubs/exfoliaters– Exfoliation products speed up new skin production and clear away old cells. This helps t o unclog pores for a healthy glow!
Tip: If you have sensitive skin, avoid scrubs with any scratchy grains. Instead, use a product that uses enzymes. It will dissolve the skin cells which this reduces the risk of damaging your skin. Also, if you have normal skin, aim to exfoliate only twice a week. Those with oily or combination skin should try to exfoliate about three or four times out of the week.
Moisturizers: After your morning face cleanse, be sure to use a good moisturizer preferably one with an SPF of 15 or higher. At night, use a thicker and richer formula–something that contains collagen.
Tip: If you have dark circles around the eyes, don’t forget to use an eye cream! Gel formulas containing caffeine are great if you have oily skin or puffiness. Those with dry skin should use a thicker cream that contains Vitamin K. This will help to fight those pesky dark circles. These simple essentials can work wonders for your skin this summer and can be easily incorporated into your daily routine.
