Enhance Your Surroundings. Relieve Your Stress.

Stress can be exhausting. It can consume our entire world if we let it. No one likes to be stressed out. Sometimes its inevitable; however, there are things we can do to ease our minds by making our environment beautiful. Check out some of these tips on how to add beauty into your space to relieve stress.

1. First off, declutter immediately.

A clear space makes room for a clear mind and ultimately a clearer life. We have all heard it before that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so why not make your space personal? In the space you choose, be fun. Be bold. And most of all be completely you!

2. Set up a long mirror.

There is just something sexy about a long mirror to take selfies and full body pics in. Believe it or not, you are beautiful. Stare at yourself. Smile at your physical attributes and speak affirmations towards your body opportunities. Also, look at your facial features. Strike a pose. Stand naked. Glare at how beauty oozes thru your skin. 

In the space you choose, be fun. Be bold. And most of all, be completely you!”

3. Add essential oils.

Choose a calming scent like lavender or eucalyptus. As soon as you enter your space, put some in the palm of your hand and rub it in. Close your eyes and inhale the smell. Let it overtake you and prepare to have the best time in your appointed space.

4. Get fresh flowers or a plant.

Bring life into your spot to add more beauty. Plants and/or flowers are perfect for this. Plants that are easier to manage like the monstera plant is a great option. And don’t forget to name your plant. If you are unsure of what to name it, choose your given name. Speak life into it. Sing to it. Treat it like the most amazingly, wonderful thing on this planet.

5. Have an “I Love It So Much” Journal.

Every year I shop for a journal that makes me feel fun inside. A journal that I write, doodle, or even just carry around that I just love so much. Choose a journal that is your favorite color or maybe a pattern that sparks your femininity or makes you feel powerful. Add a pen that you use to only write in this journal for extra flare.

6. Create a peace place.

Create an area within your space that provokes peace. A textured rug, huge pillows, cool lamp, and your favorite scarf will do the trick. Find a corner where you go to stretch, visualize, and pray. No one else is welcomed or invited there. It’s where you go to breathe and grab your zen.

7. Pick red lipstick.

Find your perfect shade of red lipstick and keep it in your space. Red lipstick is the equivalent to a power suit for your face. Put it on when you need an extra dose of confidence. I guarantee you’ll get at least two compliments that day.

8. Make a bragging rights display.

Post a card an old friend wrote with compliments about you. Tear out a sheet out of magazine or news article in which you were featured. Showcase a plaque or certificate you worked your ass off to get. When you’re having a melancholy day look up and around at some of the goals you have reached. Bask in the brag.
